how do u uninstall the wads

Anonymous said...

create a folder on the root of the sd card called "wads", and place all the wads you want to install in there.

use the twilight hack (or any other method) to run the wad manager.

ENJOY

how long should it take for the manager to load. it's been a while now and it's still at 0%...

ok, I'm trying to install this thing and I'm running into trouble.
people say to just load it with the twilight hack, but how does that work?
I've tried doing that and it just re-installs the homebrew channel.
I've tried downloading gecko os because it says you can load apps with it, and I couldn't do that no matter where I looked. Just had an option to play region free games.
now I'm getting info that I need an image in the folder (app>wad loader is my set up) to enable the homebrew channel to recognize it.
I'm at version 3.3U, so I shouldn't have any compatibility problems.
help, please?

to uninstall press the minus button instead of the plus button.

When I try to install a wad it tells me

>> Installing ticket... ERROR!
(ret = -2011)

What does this mean? I have system version 3.3. Did they lock out installs to the Wii? If so, you should probably mention on the page that WAD install will not work on system 3.3 and up.

The same here. Any ideas?

the error comes from the new update blocking wads being installed. i figured this out this morning at 2am.
1. google "wii 3.3 update fix". you can get the torrent or find a direct dl.
2. put the files on ur sd card like you are installing another home brew app.
3. run wad manager 1.3 (included in dl)
4. install IOS16-64-v257.wad (included in the dl)
5. next. run wad_manager_ios16 to install cios_fix.wad
6. now all wads should be able to load through wad manager 1.3

that should fix the problem
enjoy

Umm...question...

what happens if i delete the wads that i install in the wad manager directly from the wii sistem data managment?

Anonymous said...

Thanks "theBob" for the advice and directions!

theBob said...

if wads are deleted from the wii data management it will remove the channel from the home menu and all data related to it from the wii hard drive. nothing will be removed from the sd card.

however, you can not recover the deleted wad unless you have the original file you used to install it the first time.

In the readme.txt of wad manager it says "supported devices:... USB device". May I use a pen drive?

To: "the bob"

I have system menu 4.0 with HBC. Is it too late/impossible for me to install wads with the wad manager? Like tr3mb13 I've tried installing IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad and I keep getting ERROR! (ret = -1035)

wurp said...

Thanks so much, theBob! I've tried lots of different methods to get past my problems with wad installation on 4.0u, and yours is the first that actually works ;-)

spid3rkid - Did you try theBob's steps? I got the error you're getting, and his instructions fixed it. And even if you didn't already have HBC, BannerBomb works fine on 4.0.

Meh. I'm following theBob's instructions to the tee and still getting the same ERROR! (ret = -1035)

If you have already updated to the Wii System Menu v4.0u and are having WAD Manager errors, there is a very easy fix!

Step by step posted here: http://timashley.me/?q=node/6

Trying to run this from HBC on a softmodded wii (4.0u, as described here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/773505) and it keeps returning error -1 when I choose to install from my SD card slot. I have a directory named wad in the root of the SD card with the .wads I want to install. What am I doing wrong?

I installed preloader on my wii v4, but then reinstalled another wad which I believe downgraded to a lower version, but i didn't follow the instructions and did not change the connect from SD card to internet on wad manager and my wii froze, I reset it but now get an error saying the sytem files are corrupt (it's all hazy) when I turn the wii on (before the bit where you are asked to press A), I soft reset and push the reset button, this loads up preloader and I can access home brew channel from there. Is there any way I can reinstall the system files? and where can I get hold of the system files?

after installing the wad can u delete it off the sd card

Take a look at this new homebrew app based on WAD Manager: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKD0jxrZ2LY

It installs WADs directly from your PC through the network!

um i have a problem......
when i try to load any homebrew related to loading WADs (WAD manager, WAD installer, ect.) i get a message "not a valid application." I dont understand why it doesn't work for me because it seems to work for others. Any ideas?

p.s. i have sys menu 4.0. That may have something to do with it but i think itsthe homebrew channel thats the problem

people use google for your problems....about these error rets. i did when i got error ret 2011 and a couple others like error ret 1. ret 1 is where i believe u already have it installed and u cant install it again. error ret 2011 is where u dont have a custom ios installed therefor not allowing you to install wads or anything really dealing with homebrew. g-o-o-g-l-e i-t
