As long as people have the Starfall/Menuloader hacks to disable disc updates, then we don't have to worry about us being forced to update to a new firmware.
And people could always dump those games and people can download them to avoid the required disc update, too. XD
Even if nintendo want to remove the HBC, they can only do it by updates or game updates. Besides the backup loader isnt even out yet, they dont know what they're fighting against. Even if they do release an update the remove the HBC/backup loader you can just either ignore the update, or update and wait to see if a new version comes out compatible with 3.4 for example.
