WBFS For Mac OSX

Darkten has released a native Mac OSX port of WBFS with a GUI for managing your drive.

Quote:
You'll need to format your USB Drive/device with your Wii; we didn't want anyone making any kind of mistakes

Once you do that, you can simply run the app and plug in your drive. The Finder won't complain, no errors about Unrecognized Filesystems, etc.

Any of your games you've backed up on your Wii will be listed in the file viewer. You can extract any title you like from the drive and save it to your Mac for safekeeping, erase and restore your backups back to the drive, as well as make Homebrew Channel launchers from an easy, professional Mac app.

Awesome. Figured someone would step up and make an elegant app for this.

Thanks you very much.

what does the usb loader do exactly?

I tried using an old Seagate Sata drive from my G5 in an WD ecnlosure that I formatted out to FAT 32 in hopes that hte Wii would be able to handle it from there. No dice. My girlfriends lappy with Vista can see the drive either. I can't afford to go get a new drive so that's why I swapped my drives around. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Almost forgot the important part. USB Loader 1.1 says "cannot be formatted" for every partition. I only have the 1 partition.

Hello there,
the link does not work...
can i find the file anywhere else?

Thank you very much

Formatted as FAT 32 alone will not work.

To use the WBFS you need to use Master Boot Record when formatting the partition.

This important detail is not mentioned. Most macs are GUID or Apple Partition, Master Boot Record can be selected under the Options... button in the Partition Tab of disk utility.

i have a question.
my wbfs drive that runs perfectly in windows and wii can't be displayed properly in mac,

wbfs 1.2 detected the disk but couldn't show the content and it was all blank and says "HD num not match" or something like that.

i also read at the quote above "need to be reformatted with wii" how do i do that?

thanks a lot if you could help me

If you have a 'known working' WBFS drive, that won't display in MAC, make sure the application is fully quit (apple+Q), THEN insert the USB drive. Only start the WBFS Manager for Mac **AFTER** you have inserted the USB drive. Everything then shows up. Tested this on 3 separate MAC machines.

I've formatted my drive via the wii but I'm not seeing that the drive is mounted when I plug my hard drive into the computer. Are there some in depth instructions on how to do this?

Thanks!

I have OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerMac G4, I downloaded and tried to open WBFS for Mac, but nothing happened. I tried plugging the hard drive in to the Mac and then opening the software, but still nothing. Is there something I'm missing? Or something I'm doing wrong? Please help.

Works for me and is a savior.
Problems.
Somtimes will not show all iso files.
Extract feature never works (extracts 0 kb file)
no way to copy or clone wbfs drive.

Wish I could extract
but either way thanks for the the help.

Also for people with problems. Format External drive with USB loader on wii.
Then manager will read it (mostly)
