DUDE!!!!!!! you have to stop the redirection to your sponsers sites and the annoying sounds that u cant turn off!
uhh why post a mediafire link when you can just download it from the website?
Heya, although I do recomend waiting for all the tests to come in, thought I'd let you know how it worked for myself.
I have (had) a virgin LU64 4.0 From the Factory Wii. Please note this has the new Boot2 version, and already had Drivekey installed.
Followed the instructions too the letter, and while some steps can be a little confusing, it worked perfectly. Full installation, from noticing it was released, took me approximately 4 hours, lol, was very cautious and read everything six times. I can now have preloader and all those other goodies installed and running on the latest wii. Thank-you to all those involved!
Tried installing with 4.0 system that had the last version of softmii before being upgraded with Waninkoko's 4.0 firmware...
Tons of errors! Gonna try again after downgrading, I guess.
The instructions in the softmii package are way too complicated. In my opinion you can get away with just installing cios rev13a (or b), and the running the neogamma loader (r5 is the latest see on gbatemp.net). r5 has usb / sd and dvd loader capabilities. For the dvd to work you need to install dvd from the hackmii package (bootmii.org) I imagine. Also please note, that based on the sound of the dvd drive, it also runs at 3x speed (I guess the wii believes it to be a dvd video disc, just as with drivekey).
I am also strongly against installing cioscorp (or what the heck is that) - since it is just superfluous, and no one is able to tell me what it's real reason is for existing.
@kcs:
cioscorp patches your disc channel to give a similar effect to a wii with a drivechip, no more need for the backup loaders. However, it is buggy, installs fail often, and I think a non-reversible change to the filesystem (at least it was on V0.1)
hacked mine ok (no 64) and had no problems
