@Ink Dragon: Agreed. All the people who cheat online need to be banned and Nintendo knows that. This is just going to lead to more extreme measures that will take out pirates and legal homebrew users in the process.

I play my MKWii backup on my hdd all the time, but i have the original, i just dont want my DVD to whore out. Same goes with all my original, i have them on my hdd to play them from there and keep my dvd's and still play.

This just lets people who have already been banned play online again. Nintendo only currently bans for cheating online (to my knowledge at least). Playing backups online should still be perfectly safe (I've been playing a Mario Kart backup online for a long time now with no ban, but I don't cheat).
