Yes Scott, why would it brick your Wii? Basically everyon using StartPatch 4.2 used Waninkoko's Updater.

I just updated to 4.2U using Waninkoko updater and wanted to know if I could just install the Startpatch without bricking my wii? I like the features of this one and would like to install it but don&#39;t want to have a problem if I already have Waninkoko 4.2 update installed.<br /><br />Thanks, <br />Scott

It was updated to add a semi-working Region Free Wii Games patch. Also, some multi-patches were reduced to a single patch! =) Cheers!
